May 31, 2009 I went to the
dunes with some new friends; Edwin, Reanna and their children Brandon
and Emilia. A few days before this, I had dinner at
their home (great ribs Reanna!) and I got to ride a motorcycle.
(The mighty Honda Trail 90!) This was my first time driving a motorcycle.
We went out in an off road area near their home and I managed to
fall over only two times! (Sorry about that
brake handle Edwin!) I am proud of the "scar" on my
nose! The first "fall" was down an embankment about 1/2
way to an irrigation ditch! Yikes! Maybe I need a
Harley.... Ha! Seriously, if I was younger, I would
love to own a trail bike to mess around with. That was
just a blast!
The first picture below shows Emilia giving me some
help with the strap on my helmet. She had no idea
of how much help I really needed! Training wheels probably
would have been a good idea! After 1 week of riding
a motorcycle, Emilia looked like a pro out there... compared to
me!

The first picture below shows us at the dunes. From
left to right: Edwin, Emilia, Brandon,
Reanna, and Trey. Edwin and Reanna
invited some other friends to join us later. Between us we had 4 adults and 4 kids (aged 8 to 13)
using 4 quads and the sandrail. Speaking for myself, it
was a great day. Of course, my clutch
was having a "little" trouble (who needs to shift?) and Reanna
did manage to roll the quad she was driving.

As you can see below, my sandrail trailer makes a
wonderful picnic table. It was pretty cool in the morning,
but very nice after that. Most importantly, there was no
wind! We drove down and cruised along the beach.

We got out in the flats and the kids had fun
racing around us in circles. By the end of the day, Edwin and Reanna
were thinking that their whole family
needed quads.
